Shure SRH440 - Professional Studio Dynamic Closed Back Over Ear Headphones smooth & even but uncomfortable
Pros:
Good for TV production, live sound. Could even be used for studio tracking. The response is pretty flat. Isolation is good.
Cons:
Not for long sessions. Not a lot of clamping pressure, but band isn’t padded enough. I find myself adjusting their position every 10 - 15 minutes.
Other Thoughts:
I bought these to replace my 10 yo Sony MDV-600 cans that I loved. The 440 isn’t as pleasing, but probably more flat. Some more time getting familiar and adding some padding to the band and I’m sure I’ll be pleased.

Shure SE535-V - Triple High Definition MicroDriver Sound Isolating In Ear Earphones - Metallic Bronze You want the best...
Pros:
When you think about great sound, what do you think about? Clarity? Detail? Realism? Dynamics? Space? Bass? Neutrality? Let me say, I think about all these things and the engineers that designed the SE535 thought about all these things too. I can’t imagine that there’s a real way to improve the sound I am hearing with the SE535. It is my favorite thing that I own.

Shure SRH240A - Professional Qualtiy Dynamic Closed Back Over Ear Headphones Shure 240
Pros:
I like to listen to classical music out of my iPod. I’m sure there are better choices, but these were in my price range. I like that the sound is not too bassy. The violins and piano sound clear. Thank you headphones.com

Shure SRH1440 - Professional Premium Reference Open Back Over Ear Headphones Shure SRH 1440 stereo headphone
Pros:
Excellent sound
Cons:
none
Other Thoughts:
Superb comfort and build, near perfect from deep bass to upper mids - treble slightly bright but can be damped with extra foam inserts in the earcups. Best sound I’ve heard in this price range.

Shure SRH1840 - Professional Premium Reference Open Back Over Ear Headphones Very detailed, a tad bright for me
Pros:
excellent clarity and detail. a very ’analytical’ pair of cans.
Cons:
a little shy on the bass for my liking, but if I wanted inflated bass, I wouldn’t be looking at these cans.
Other Thoughts:
A great alternative to those without deep enough pockets for the Sennheiser HD800
