You may have to purchase a longer cord, depending where they are located in relationship to sound source, about 10 bucks at Wal-Mart. Will be buying a second set for my wife. I have a 120" projector screen & HD projector; so the visuals aren’t a problem. My sound system is great too, however I can rarely make it go as loud as I would like in the evening when watching my HUGE image, due to the sleeping kids, neighbors, etc. This is where the Qhome comes in and saves the day.
The surround sound is great, and since it uses an optical input, we are getting a digital signal; that means REAL surround sound, instead of the simulated surround sound in most SS headphones.
Of course, I really do prefer blasting my speaker system, but I don’t shed a tear about using my Qhome fx system while watching larger than life bluray ;)

Also the sound quality is fine, but not great. There is a significant improvement in sound quality when watching a movie from my blu-ray player even though I haven’t changed the input selection. Headphones are running through my digital optical output. I specifically bought these headphones for that purpose because my t.v. doesn’t have any other audio out feature. So far pleased, but not overwhelmed. |

You need to make sure your output device (DVD, Blu-Ray, HD TV is set for PCM mode. These phones decode Dolby AC3 directly (No virtually) so they need the direct output to decode in to spatial separation. Once you get this right your experience will be awsome. I have 2 sets (One for my Xbox) and they do rock.

Pro’s: No wires to worry about. 3 different source inputs. Accepts all types of surround, (doby digital, DTS, PCM, etc). Fairly comfortable for about 60 minutes. Li-ion battery -no battery-memory issues. Good for 6 -8 hours before recharging. Stereo separation is very good, but not surround.
Con’s: Speaker placement in earpads is incorrect, ...front to rear separation is not perceptable....all speakers work but "surround" effect is dissappointing.
Wireless is excellent , but cuts out when your not in the same room. Wireless is not as as an equivalent 2.4 ghz phone. Definitely not 100+ meter range, more like 20. |
