SOUL by Ludacris SL300WB - Elite Noise Cancelling Over Ear Headphones with Mic/Remote for Apple Products -Black/White
Better Than Beats !
Pros: Don’t waist your money on Beats by Dr. Dre: ! After my second day of having these I brought them to school. In my gym class there where 2 ppl who had Beats Studios so my first reaction was to compare them of course. We swapped headphones and about a minute into listening to my Souls he had mad his decision. His exact words were, "yours are better" . I too agreed as I noticed the bass on his Beats sounded uncontrolled and sloppy when played on my amplifier and the sound was not as clear. I let about 6 ppl hear my headphones after winning the comparison and they all where amazed at the sound and no longer concerned about my classmates Beats lol. These are also super comfortable and fits perfectly over anyone’s ear. The cushion is designed so that your ear fits behind the cushion and puts your ear as close to the sound as possible. The noise cancellation is excellent by the way, it’s like you enter your own planet when these are playing. I love them ! Cons: Nothing!

Beats by Dr. Dre 129425 - Pro High Performance Professional DJ/Studio Over Ear Headphones - Black
The BEST for Hip Hop
Pros: Terrific clarity, bass goes deep but doesn’t get bloaty or bleed into the mid-range, easily powered by portable devices, the most beautiful and stylish headphones to date. Cons: Very tight on head initially, ear cups could be bigger and deeper, tad bit on the heavy side. Other Thoughts: I started like most others with the D Solos and Studios, but found their sound a little too muddy for my tastes. The Beats Pros has a sound that offers much more clarity of the mids and highs. I currently own a Beyerdynamics DT 770 Pro 80, Sennheiser HD650 and AKG Q701 which I run through a FIio E7/E9 combo

Creative WP-300 - Bluetooth Listen Only Wireless On Ear Headphones
Great Choice!
Pros: Lightweight. Well constructed. Great sound quality. Cons: Earcups are a little small, so they don’t actually fit around your ear. Other Thoughts: These are exactly what I was looking for! I wanted headphones that would be comfortable to wear all day at work and provide solid sound quality. These definitely lived up to my expectations. They’re smaller and lighter than I was expecting. It’s a very slight con, but I think they would be a little more comfortable if the earcups were actually big enough to fit around your ear. However, that would make them a little bulkier. But even as is, they’re quite comfortable.

Westone WESTONE 3 - High Performance Triple Driver Sound Isolating In Ear Earphones
Outstanding product and Outstanding company
Pros: Absolutely the best pair of ear buds I have ever owned. The customer service of Westone is second to none Cons: They are a bit pricey, but absolutely worth it!! Other Thoughts: Bought a pair of Westone 3 is June 2010. I literally use them everyday, both at home and during gym workouts. In December, the left channel stopped working. I called Westone, and they gave me a return authorization number. Within one week, a REPLACEMENT pair was mailed, at no cost! I simply can’t recommend this product or this company enough!

Audio-Technica ATH-M50S - Professional Studio Monitoring Closed Back Dynamic Over Ear Headphones - Straight Cable
ATH-M50 Review
Pros: Overall balanced and accurate sound quality. Durable. Cons: A little heavy. Gets a little hot on the ear after extended listening periods. Other Thoughts: Overall, the Audio Technica ATH-M50 has produced a headphone with exceptionally balanced sound and quality for its price range! I had my M50’s for a couple of weeks and with the right amount of "burining-in" and pairing with the right kind of amp, portable or otherwise, and I’m all set! Its very easy to drive as well! I highly recommend this headphone to anyone who is serious with their music. Just keep the music true!

SMS Audio SMS-WD-BLK - STREET by 50 Professionally Tuned Over Ear Headphones - Black
Overall good sounding headphone
Pros: - No battery involved (BIG PLUS!) - Passive noise cancellation - It looks amazing! - Very nice mids, highs and lows Cons: - Heavy price tag - Some people might find it too big, no big deal in my case. It does get irritating when you wear it a lot aroud your neck. Other Thoughts: Like all headphones from famous rappers: not worth that much money, but it doesn’t mean it’s not a good headphone. I also chose it because it looks really goood, both Street & Sync. These are way better than any Beats by Dre model. Not too heavy bass, and the mids, lows and highs are good sounding.
If you have spare money: I say get it!

Sennheiser HD201 - Closed Back Dynamic Over Ear Headphones
Great for the price.
Pros: -Very Comfortable -Long Chord(Pro and Con) -Sound is very good and clear -Very adjustable -Noise Cancelling is okay, but not the value of a $500 pair. You can really tell the difference though. -Durrable Cons: -Chord is really long, and can get tangled easily. -Sound will leak through some if you have it loud enough, but if you need them this loud in the first place it shouldn’t bother anyone. -If you plan on having them on for a while, make sure you adjust them now and then, it will get un-comfortable if you have them on for too long, but this con comes with every pair of headphones you could buy.
Other Thoughts: -Not a $500 pair, but good bang for your buck. This is perfect for if you are tired of ear buds, but don’t have the money to buy those expensive ones.

Also skyrim is good too footsteps and you can totally tell when a dragon is around cuz you can hear its wings flapping Cons: feels a little tight having difficulty trying to customize on turtlebeach website to get other programmable presets Other Thoughts: it does need an optical input. i went on amazon and got an hd audio adapter get this for 1 dollar its the real microsoft that works for the old and new slim 360 not one of those off brand pos’ like madcats. I paid 3.45 total for the adapter and they even gave me and HDMI cord so now i can play with High quality and use these sets

Grado SR125i - Prestige Series High Performance Open Back Dynamic On Ear Headphones
Grado SR 125i
Pros: Sound Cons: comfort Other Thoughts: The SR325i replaced Sony MDR-V6. The Sonys had a nice sound for 20 year old cans and for over 1/2 the price of the Grados I could have replaced them. I’ve heard about the Grado sound and the SR152i are at the top of the "bang for the buck" curve.
I’ve been listening to these for a few hours and I’m am suitably impressed. One of the comments I’ve read was the amount of burn in time these cans required, somewhere around 20 hours. What I have noticed is the bass gets better, tighter, more noticeable. I’m listening to audience recordings on my computer routed thru a 70’s era Pioneer receiver because I don’t have a 1/4 to 1/8" adapter for the E-mu sound card. The only equalization is a high shelf filter with a turn over around 8.5k and 6.5 dB boost due to damaged ears.
Listening to John McLaughlin & Jonas Hellborg recorded live. I’m impressed with speed of the transits on these cans. John McLaughlin’s guitar just snaps when he plucks the string...*snap*. I have a copy of Yoner Mountain String Band recorded in a small bar in Pittsburgh. The thing that stood out in that recording is the roundness of the doghouse bass. There was no doubt this was a wooden acoustical instrument.
The bass is very tight and controlled. These are not for bass heads who want fat, pronounced bass. It’s there and it’s deep but you’re not gonna be beat to death. On high tempo songs you just want to tap your feet, there’s no drag on the bass lines. The midrange is...well....one thing Grados are known for is their clean midrange. McLaughlin’s guitar is just fabulous, the resolution is wonderful, you can hear strings, just not chords. All this listing to FLAC files not WAVs.
Only caveat is these are open backed headphones so sound goes out and sound goes in. If you need isolation, then a closed back headphone is required. As I said, I liked my Sonys, but these do have more air around the instruments as well as the ambiance. When John taps the guitar body, you can hear the sound decay in the room. That’s the beauty of open backed headphones.
The comfort level could be better, but it’s not painful. Part is the heavy cord and part that I’m not used to on the ear phones. The earcups are all foam, which in itself feels odd. Still, these are well worth the buck-fifty I spent. I hope these will be the last cans I have to buy. Some say these aren’t for bass heavy music like dance. I’m listening to a CD copy of Lady Gaga’s "Fame Monster" LP. The bass is deep and clean. I can understand how some would say it’s light in the bottom. They’re definitely not fat sounding. I like the clean lean sound. You get to hear all of the layers in the bass, not a one note beat.
I guess you can say these come highly recommended.

supersound headphones
Pros: clear crisp sound. deep bass without an end easy to wear durable Cons: earpads sometimes make the ear sweaty Other Thoughts: I agree with ben. these are great, maybe the best headphones there are. the easy sound has lots of space in between. you can hear the ease in witch this headphones operate. it can handle anything. this was actually my first beyerdynamic headphones. in combination with my Antelope Zodiac DAC they really sound great. after that I bourght the DT1350. do not know
I do not know much about head-phones. I do know that the brand I purchased as a gift for my son is very good. He tried them and said he liked them very much.I gave a rating of 4 because I do not know what else is out there. However he does seem to like them and they are a very good quality. Thank You. JPC.

Audio-Technica ATH-WS50BK - Solid Bass Over Ear Headphones
Review of the ATH-WS50BK Headphones
These headphones are overall great. Though they are focused toward the lower pitch, the sound quality is great. When i am listening on my ipod nano, the music seems distant.. as if it needs more output. So i believe that its wise to use a AAA amplifier (this is what i use when listening with a nano), if you use a nano. The bass is (like the first review said) very crisp, yet not overwhelming.
The only problem i had was that they are not that comfortable. the material used was hard and rough. i just comprimised and now i wear a beanie. Also.. you cant really tell by the picture, but the headphone cuffs are actually chrome, and yes if you were wondering (like me) the headband is adjustable.

Denon AH-D1100 - Advanced Closed Back Over Ear Headphones
fantastic
i’m giving these a five because for under 200 bucks these phones are remarkable. not beautiful so they put the money into the sound. bass predominate and i would probably say a little too much however the response over the middle and high range blend well together. i was so confused over all the phones available and reviews so i threw my hands up and called headphones and asked the guy there after i explained what i wanted to direct me to the best for the money.

LTB Audio Systems Q-Home-FX - 2.4GHz Wireless True 5.1 Surround Sound Over Ear Headphones - Black
Awesome for home theater
I have a set of these I use with 4 additional headsets for my home theater. I have a 120" projector screen& HD projector; so the visuals aren’t a problem. My sound system is great too, however I can rarely make it go as loud as I would like in the evening when watching my HUGE image, due to the sleeping kids, neighbors, etc. This is where the Qhome comes in and saves the day.
The surround sound is great, and since it uses an optical input, we are getting a digital signal; that means REAL surround sound, instead of the simulated surround sound in most SS headphones.
Of course, I really do prefer blasting my speaker system, but I don’t shed a tear about using my Qhome fx system while watching larger than life bluray ;)
highly recommended!

Grado SR325is - Prestige Series High Performance Open Back Dynamic On Ear Headphones
Update: 2 1/2 months
After living with these beautiful headphones for nearly 3 months I thought I should note my opinions. To address the comfort issue I called up Grado Labs and they told me to bend out the headband a bit. After doing this, I can happily report that any issue i ever had has been totally resolved. In fact, in the box there was a sheet of paper with a little not at the bottom saying that if they fitted tight, one can simply bend out the band to the user’s liking. Needless to say, there is not a single comfort problem anymore. NONE! The sound is still as perfect as I could ever want for $295, but with the addition of the following, I now enjoy much better sound: Wireworld ultraviolet USB cable, HRT music streamer II, Better Cables Silver Serpent interconnects, Bellari HA540 tube amp, and a 1960 Raytheon 12ax7a organ stock tube (long black plates). With all this the headphones can be driven properly with plenty of power and MUCH higher quality audio input. However, at 32 ohms impedance, these can be driven perfectly fine by an ipod or computer, but even with a modest system (like mine), the results are magical. To me, nothing is better after a long day than sitting down and listening to one of the best investments i have ever made. Like before, I give these headphones an solid 5 stars.

Sennheiser HD518 - Audiophile Open Back Dynamic Over Ear Headphones with E.A.R. Technology
Excellent Frequency Response
I use these headphones with a modern Allen church organ headphone output. The organ headphone output level is a little on the low side but these headphones have excellent sensitivity and I have more than enough volume.
The lowest pedal note is 32 Hz and it is very strong, as it should be, not rolled off 20 dB like some other headphones. The frequency response is very smooth, not at all "boomy".
The sound quality is essentially the same listening through the headphones as it is listening to the organ live in the room. The organ is in a "garage size" room in a residence, not a church.
After a disappointing experience with another brand that claimed to have low frequency response but didn’t, I am delighted at the sound of these headphones.

Audio-Technica ATH-M50 - Professional Studio Monitoring Closed Back Dynamic Over Ear Headphones - Coiled Cable
The best closed back headphones period!
While there are other headphones that can have a slytly different kind of a sound.. for instance open back headphones (most at a much higher price) that sound a little more, well open, better for classical music etc..
These headphones are truly the best headphones I have ever heard in my entire life. I am no hipster yuppy that is seduced by celebrity endorsements and "trendy factor", I record and mix music. I have 2 sets of very expensive reference monitors and have trained my ears over a long period of time to hear nuances in music and sound.
Let me tell you these things ROCK! The other review on here is some guy who just got them and doesn’t know too much about music.. these headphones need to be "burned in" or played at a decent volume for a period of roughly 50 hours. After that point they sound perfect, or as they should.
I have used many kinds of headphones and these are the most accurate you will come across.. there are some others that color the sound to sound more "sweet" in certain areas.. these make the audio exactly as it was recorded.
The midrange is open and detailed, the highs are brilliant without being harsh, and the bass is HUGE while being tight and not flabby. The bass response goes down the lowest I have ever heard on headphones, you really get some nice sub frequencies with these babies.
Talk to most people in the recording industry and these are the standard nowadays.
They are built like a tank, they have some weight to them.. but they are not uncomfortable they are super cushy and comfy and can be worn for hours and hours without hurting your head or fatiguing your ears, very important for mixing in a studio. BEATS by dre are a f-ing joke, they are overhyped crap. These honestly sound 10 times better at a reasonable price. Do yourself a serious favor and get these, check out the reviews online on the music sites like sweetwater.. everyone loves them.
All in all if you want the best headphones out there for a great price do yourself a favor and get these.

Audio-Technica ATH-M20 - Studio Monitoring Closed Back Dynamic Over Ear Headphones
Perfect for price
My first Audio Technica headphones,I have only had them for one day,i have had several other economy brands to compare these with, they sound and look alot more durable than my other sets. They are just for listening music on my laptop, for that purpose highly recommended. Two things i would love to see, more cushion on earpiece, and the Audio Technica logo,in bright red or orange, across the headband. That will probably cost more than what i paid.just jump on it.They are great.`

Sennheiser HD518 - Audiophile Open Back Dynamic Over Ear Headphones with E.A.R. Technology
these are great
about a week ago I purchased these headphones and have been very satisfied. In the past I have only had in ear headphones and thought it was time to buy something a little higher quality. Boy did these deliver! The definition is amazing and I’m hearing parts of my music I have never heard before. In fact I’m listening to them now and heard subtle whispering lyrics I’ve never heard. One great thing about the Sennheiser HD518 is that an ipod can easily power them which is what I typically use. Sometimes to get a little more out of them I plug it into my stereo that I use for my tv. The low end is great and so is the high no matter what. I listen to anything from dubstep to jazz and no matter what it sounds right.
Lets talk about the design. These are definitely for private use. I can step on the cord if it isn’t coiled and I’m six feet tall. I like to walk around without having to move the audio source so this is nice at home. The open back design leaks sound very easily no matter the volume. The ear pieces are slightly itchy but still very comfortable and I can wear these headphones for
hours.
I am very pleased that I chose the HD518 headphones because over all they are amazing the bass definition and comfort are all great. I would encourage you to buy these if you are in the price range.

Marley EM-JH010-SU - Positive Vibration On Ear Headphones - Sun
Fantastic!
Shopping around my campus tech store, I saw they only had three main brands in stock: Skullcandy, Monster Beats by Dre and the Marleys. They had this identical pair out on display for demo’ing, so I tried them on. Full, rich, articulate bass and crystal clear mids and highs. Fantastic. Though some may not like the bass-heavy sound of these (it kind of dominates the sound, treble is dialed back quite a bit, making these most ideal for hip-hop, reggae, and dance/electro), I think they sound great, and are well made for the price. The aluminum finish on the outsides of the cans is a nice touch of luxury. Highly recommended! They lose one star only because of the bass-dominated sound through the speakers.

Sennheiser RS110 - Wireless RF Dynamic Open Stereo Over Ear Headphones with Transmitter
RS120
Headphones were plug and play. I followed the instructions, charged for 24 hours and they played perfectly, no tuning, channel changing required. The only difference between the RS110 and RS120 is the 120 includes rechargable batteries and a charging stand at a slight increase in price. My salesman was well versed in his product and when I stated my requirements, suggested the 120 instead of the 110. I’m perfectly satisfied with the headphones, the shipping and my salesman.

Sony MDR-RF970RK - 900MHz Digital RF Wireless Noise Reduction Closed Back Over Ear Headphones
Plastic noise
I now have two of these headphones and use them together from the same source and simultaneously from two independent sources. They do lack a little bass but that is to be expected and is not objectionable. They do have one problem that keeps them from being a five star product. That is the annoying click and squeak from the plastic head gear. I would hope enough of these reviews would get back to Sony and they could provide a solution. I very carefully applied a little WD-40 to some areas but it didn’t help.

SOUL by Ludacris SL300WB - Elite Noise Cancelling Over Ear Headphones with Mic/Remote for Apple Products -Black/White
SL300WB Review
this is probably the first expensive pair of headphones i ever owned.
First of, the cons of this is that when you are in a very quiet place..the amount of leakage on this headphones is quite obvious. making it a little bit difficult to use in when you are in libraries and you’re the kind to have your music above the average volume.
another con is that it is a finger print magnet due to its glossy material.
however, thats about all of the cons! (for me that is)
i like how the sound quality of the headphones are..they dont just focus on pumping bass..theres actually a clarity in terms of the little details u never really expect to hear from the song..and the voice of singers are very clear!
the noise cancelling is superb..
the design is beautiful (LED lights that gives you the extra shine at night..its not blindingly bright to catch all the wrong attention..just bright enough to show off it’s awesomeness..would have been even better though if the lights would blink according to the beat of the music..)
the design is nice and it fits very well without being too tight on the head nor too lose..
for ppl who wants a nicely designed headphones that isnt just all about the bass while standing out in a Beats-wearing-crowd..should definitely consider getting this :)
no regrets here!

Klipsch 1013812 - Image S4A High Performance In Ear Earphones with Android Phone Remote/Mic - Black
pretty good
I really like Klipsch products and quality. The headphones have a comparable quality to my less expensive $30 Sony ear buds. I like the android compatibility feature, although I use them at work plugged into my computer most of the time and was a little dissapointed with the control bar, expecting it to be like the 3 button S4i instead of a single button needing to be clicked 1, 2 or 3 times to navigate your tracks. My Sony ear buds block out external noise a little better. These are really only my second pair of ear buds, so I don’t have much to compare them to. I would have liked to have purchased one of their X models, but its hard to justify that kind of expense. My next pair may be from Sennheiser.

EarPollution EP-TX-BLUE - Toxix Series On Ear Headphones - Blue
Surprisingly great
I got a pair at Ross for i think 5 bucks a few years ago and I’ve always been using them. i would be right now but i lost mine..:( anyways they sound pretty great with loud music (especially metal). this might partially be because i always wear a beany on my head when using these and the combination makes everything sound great.
they do feel a bit odd without my hat, and the cushioning kinda sticks to my ear after a while.
i recommend these for anyone who wants a good set without paying super lots o’ moneys!

Beats by Dr. Dre 129425 - Pro High Performance Professional DJ/Studio Over Ear Headphones - Black
Perfect for my taste...
Let me start by saying that I have a pair of Sennheisers that have been my ’go-to’ headphones for quite a few years. Nothing top of the line by any means, but they do their job. I decided it was time to step up my game because I listen to 95% hip hop. I gave the Beats Pros a shot based on reviews and in-person recommendations. Basically I was blown away at their ability to make my rap/hip hop sound AWESOME. Some audiophiles may think these dilute the higher frequencies (treble and maybe higher mid range) but I feel that for what they are designed for (djs and the hip hop aficionado) they are perfect. Thought tight on your head over time, I personally feel these are worth the money I spent on them.
Oh, and don’t turn them up too high. You might end up with shake baby syndrome because these bass is just so ridiculous... in a good way!

Grado SR325is - Prestige Series High Performance Open Back Dynamic On Ear Headphones
absolutely wonderful headphones
I have been using these for a week now and have about 30 hours of use. For the money the sound cannot be beat. However, i’ll talk about the sound a little later. These are my first pair of expensive headphones. I previously bought a pair of Klipsch Image s4’s and now just use them for travel, school, etc. I know a enough about headphones in general to say that the overall quality of these are fantastic. Besides a few somewhat minor drawbacks, I am 100% pleased with them.
BUILD QUALITY:
Overall they are built wonderfully. The cable is the thickest headphone cable I have ever seen. The cups are very good looking (though they are not as shiny as the picture suggests. The foam is quite soft and the headband is made of what looks like real leather, not the material on the cheaper prestige series. The adjustments are stiff and do not move by themselves. They look very retro and classy, unlike the "space cadet" look of the similarly priced beats studio. I will bluntly say that these are better in EVERY way besides comfort. Either way, you will not be disappointed in the build quality.
COMFORT:
Unfortunately, this is the biggest downfall of these headphones; they are somewhat uncomfortable. My ears touch the hard center of the cup and get quite soar after about an hour. However, after taking them off for 5 minutes relieved the soarness and was fine. DO NOT LET THIS HOLD YOU BACK FROM BUYING THESE. since they are not intended for any sort of travel or even leaving your desk for the most part, I do not find a five minute break at all a problem. The sound makes them worth every cent and more even with slight comfort issues. I am wearing them right now and feel no pain or discomfort.
SOUND:
The absolute best aspect of these headphones is the sound. I love to see that Grado understands that headphones should be made for sound and not for just looks. While these phones look truly beautiful, they have a retro and minimalistic approach to them, which I love. But again, they sound like they cost twice as much. They aren’t heavy on bass but the bass is very, VERY crisp. This is good to my ears because they still have a definite thump to them, but not too much. The mids are extremely detailed. So detailed that I feel like my Klipsch’s are sorely lacking in detail, when in reality they sound fantastic. (I highly recommend them) They also make $400 beats sound like trash.
I just want to take this time to say
that beats are THE WORST waste of
money in the headphone world. They
sound like a third of their price and
are much, much too bass heavy. Truly,
please do not even consider beats. go
for Grado, Sennheiser, Pioneer,
Ultrasone, etc.
But back on topic, The highs are not harsh at all and sound extremely clear and defined as well. They are very pleasant sounding with basically every genre except for heavy metal and rap. Some kind of bass boost would easily solve that problem though. Notably Three Days Grace, Bullet for My Valentine, Killswitch Engage, and Avenged Sevenfold sound magnificent. I cannot emphasize how natural, defined, detailed, and transparent these honestly sound. Every one of my friends have complimented how great they sounded as soon as they put them on. I have not tried them on a headphone amp yet, which will make them sound even better. These will sound incredible even without an amp. Even on a tight budget I am happy with this investment. I can almost guarantee that they will sound as good as headphones twice their price, besides the more expensive Grados obviously.
OVERALL:
I will stand behind this product 100% and would recommend them to anybody with the money that wants to get the absolute best sound for under $500. Though they might be somewhat uncomfortable to some, they are fully worth it regardless of this problem. These headphones will bring out background details that you have never heard before in your other headphones even without an amp. These phones look great and have a very professional look to them. They are made out of the best materials available and are built to last. They will hold up for many years. I give them a 4.7 (because of the comfort), but will gladly round to a 5.

Grado SR80i - Prestige Series Open Back Dynamic On Ear Headphones
Amazed
I was a little skeptical about purchasing these phones after I bought some entry level cans from Grado made for ipods and the such a few years ago. They did not impress me at $60 each.
I have always liked Grado’s phono cartridges so I thought I would give them another shot.
I’m very pleased I did. Clear open sound with plenty of bottom end. MP3’s even sound good. Very comfortable as well.
I can now listen to a song and pick out the bass notes much easier to learn. Well worth the coin.

Sennheiser PC360 - Premium Audiophile Over Ear Gaming Headset with Noise Cancelling Mic
New User
I bought his headset to replace one that was hard to use and was of poor quality. This headset is of ruggard construction and comfortable to wear for hours on end. It’s major use for me is game playing, but I also require it for data entry for Microsoft word and other programs. The microphone is very responsive and I like the in line switch that turns it on and off just by lowering the boom into position and shuting it off when raised.another feature is the volume adjust mounted in the right earphone. I definately reccomend this headset to all gamers out thier.

Sennheiser RS110 - Wireless RF Dynamic Open Stereo Over Ear Headphones with Transmitter
Positives and Negatives
This is the second Sennheiser headphones with transmitter I’ve had; although the RS110 is a different model number, it appears the same. The sound quality and transmitter range is terrific. A big problem is the fit: If you bend over to pick something off the floor, the headphones fall off. My old headphones’ volume control was wearing out: turn down the volume and the sound from the right side disappeared. I wish it had a mute button to cut off sound during TV commercials. That way I wouldn’t be as apt to wear out the volume control.

My Daughter Loves These Buds
I bought a pair of these for my daughter in college. She was having problems with a noisy roommate when she wanted to study in their dorm. These buds were recommended to my by the General Manager, Brian Gluck, at Headphones.com. All I can say is that my daughter has fell in love with these earbuds. She loves them so much that I’ll be buying myself a pair around Christmas. Thanks Brian for the great recommendation & the service at Headphones.com was fantastic, too.

Wow! I can’t stop listening to them! And, they are the most comfortable earbuds I have ever tried to date. I am not a big headphone wearer however, I needed something to allow me to study in cafés.
I bought the Monster Turbines - Do Not Waste Your Money! I took them back and wound up buying these. As a person who loathes shopping, I spent hours listening to various models of headphones. The only other ’earbuds’ that came close were the Miles Davis (monster) Pro.
My musical taste is quite particular yet, from Brahms: Concerto in D (Nigel Kennedy), Milt Jackson, Miles Davis, Vast Opus, Brand X, Savoy Brown, Oregon, John Scofield, Jerry Garcia (Legion of Mary), Wishbone Ash, Camel, Marillion, Cowboy Junkies, Neil Young, . . . All come through with great clarity. A couple of days ago, I listened to Franz kafkas Meteamorphisis on tape allCrisp, clear, clean, – cannot stop listening with them. All
I do not write reviews about products, but this one is definitely at the top of the list for a secong pair.

Turtle Beach Ear Force PX5 Dolby 7.1 Surround Sound Wireless/Bluetooth XBOX/PS3 Over Ear Gaming Headset w/Mic
AMAZING! Better than BOSE
This headset is absolutely amazing. I purchased this headset as a birthday gift for my ’gaming’ boyfriend and now i am grabbing them every chance i get. Turtle Beach really did think of everything! Surround sound is incredible, you have more than 7 sound settings, you can have your game in one ear and ipod or other bluetooth device in the other ear, the microphone detaches, it’s completely wireless (unless you are an Xbox user - then well shame on you for buying an Xbox), they are comfortable, they have all adjustments and settings on the headset...i’m still learninmg about them, but trhe sound is crisp and clear, and we couldn’t be happier. we will be buying another set as soon as we can!

Better than I thought they’d be
I got these headphones just 2 days after ordering online. They came in a sturdy box with enough protection to keep the headphones safe. upon opening the packaging I quickly saw how great they looked. They are very shiny and clean looking. As soon as I put them in my ears I fell in love. They are the most comfortable headphones i have ever put in my ears. This alone was worth the money. Every skullcandy headphone i have ever tried didnt fit right and kept falling out. Not the case with these. the tips are an oval instead of a circular shape making them contour to the ear much more comfortably. The build quality was a 4/5 to me. They will definitely hold up to some abuse but for those who really abuse headphones should get the rugged version. Everything feels of very high quality. The silver parts of the buds feel cold like metal but i am not sure if it is metal because they are light weight. However, the true beauty of these headphones are the sound.
These headphones needed about 10 hours of burn in to get to their actual sound quality. They sound like nothing i’ve ever heard in an in-ear headphone. The bass is super smooth and not overpowering while still giving a good kick. The treble and vocals are very clear and are free of ringing, echoing, etc. They have very crisp mids and highs. The sound is far better than what i would expect for $70. Overall I am extremely pleased with these headphones. I will never buy skullcandy ever again after using these. I would even buy these over beats by dre tours even if they were both the same price. Even if these were $150 they would be worth every penny in my eyes. I am that pleased with this product. 5/5

Sennheiser RS160 - Kleer Digital Wireless Closed Back Dynamic Over Ear Headphones with Transmitter
Controls are terrible
My feeling the same as other reviews. The controls are the worst. A nice wheel for volume and a slide switch for on/off - also a red or green light that lets you know the headphones are on or off - so not to drain the battery.
Maybe I just have not figured it out as yet, but to sit down to watch TV only to find out I have to get up again to turn on the transmitter. I just got this a few days ago, but I have had less expensive wireless phones for some time. I am considering returning it.

Sennheiser RS120 - Wireless RF Dynamic Open Stereo Over Ear Headphones with Transmitter
Glad I purchased them
For years I used a set of wireless headphones that I just loved but the charging contacts became hard to use. The model is no longer available from that manufacturer. I tried another set from a major manufacturer but the range wasn’t good enough. This model provides the range I need and the charging method is easy to use. My only "complaint" is that they don’t fit snugly enough on my head and so when I bend over the headphones like to slide off my head. Some of this is due to the fact that they don’t have foam cushioned ear pads, which is something also mentioned in other reviews. But overall, glad I purchased them.

these headphones deliver a superb sound quality with amazing lows, mids and crisp highs. these headphones knock out the studio beats by dr dre headphones by a long shot, the only pair of headphones that these are in equal to, are the beats by dre pros, if you own a pair of pros, expect sorta the same thing. the souls are isolating and louder than the pros due to it being battery powered, and unlike the studio headphones these headphones will work with or without batterys, but they will sound alot better with the beatteries in them. so i deffinatly reccomend these headphones to DJ’s or just really big fans of music.

SOUL by Ludacris SL300WB - Elite Noise Cancelling Over Ear Headphones with Mic/Remote for Apple Products -Black/White
get a pair
these headphones really outdone the beats with style, comfort and sound. these look better with the stitched leather headband and the charcoal black finish which really brings out the white. these headphones have better build quality and can even carry on working when the battery is ran out, these even come with free warranty if you register these on the soul website under support. so overall these beat any beats by dr dre product, the only one which stands out against the souls, is the beats pros, but in some cases the pros win, and in other the souls, if you own a pair of souls, be expecting the same sorta things with the SL300’s except the souls have a louder and more isolated sound, due to it being battery powered, but the pros are better build quality so wont break, so i would say it is a tie between these two.

an unboxing will be coming shortly, and i recommend these headphones to any one looking for good bass, lows, highs and isolating sound.

Sennheiser RS120 - Wireless RF Dynamic Open Stereo Over Ear Headphones with Transmitter
A little disappointed
I bought a set of Senn. headphones a couple of yrs. ago. They seemed fine, then they just stopped working. I have some hearing loss, & can’t hear the TV well unless the volume is cranked all the way up,& still miss some words. So I thought I would take a chance & buy these headphones. They work OK so far, but take FOREVER to recharge, even after using them for only a couple of hrs.! AFTER I got them, the instructions said it would take 16 HOURS to recharge. I think that’s ridiculous! NOTHING should take that long to recharge. I thought I paid enough for good quality. Now I have to wait way too long to use them again. I can’t afford more expensive ones, so I guess I’ll just have to put up with it. I just wish the recharge time had been mentioned on-line. I also think it would be nice to have earcups, not a flat earpiece.

Shure SRH940 - Professional Premium Reference Dynamic Closed Back Over Ear Headphones
Shure SRH 940 Review
The Shure SRH-940 compares favorably to the Sennheiser HD-800, which costs five times as much on average as the SRH-940. The differences between the SRH-940 and the HD-800 are subtle at most over the entire spectrum. The HD-800 has a very slight edge in clarity of upper harmonics, and I don’t know if that’s due to superior driver design and manufacture, or whether it could be due to the placement of the larger HD-800 drivers in their large earcups and the sense of extra spaciousness which that creates. Either way it’s not a difference that jumps out at me when switching between the two (each connected to an iPod Touch latest model playing the same tracks, and with the volumes set so they sound equally loud on most tracks) - you have to listen for the difference.
The bass sounds the same to me with each headphone, and I compared them closely with tracks that have heavy, medium, and light bass. Besides the tracks listed below, bass-centric tracks include Donald Fagen - Morph The Cat, Afro-Celt Sound System - Inion Daughter, Medieval Babes - Isabella, and Pink Floyd - Speak To Me.
The midrange differences are also subtle, with the HD-800 sounding slightly more open or airy, but again that may be due to the ambience the HD-800 adds by projecting its sound into those large earcups. My sense of the difference in balance is that the SRH-940 is up approximately 1 to 2 db compared to the HD-800 around 300 to 600 hz (my guess), and down about the same amount around 3 to 7 khz.
Many of the SRH-940 reviews I’ve read talk about it being "analytical", "bright", or even sibilant on the high end. It doesn’t sound that way to me. As best I remember the sound of the Sennheiser HD-600 and HD-650 (which I no longer have), the SRH-940 is very similar, very smooth and more-or-less neutral sounding, which may sound bland to people who expect more "punch" or other such things that grab your attention. If you have well-recorded music tracks with concussive bass, punchy mids, sparkly highs or other such qualities in them, the SRH-940 will reproduce those with their proper flavor and proportion. You won’t miss anything.
Caveats: 1) Some of my music tracks have moments of excessive brightness or sibilance with the SRH-940, so rather than try to guess whether it’s the headphones or the music, I rely on comparisons to other headphones that I have to tell me whether the SRH-940 is worse, better, or the same. 2) My experience using the iPod Touch -vs- using various headphone amps is that the amps make a very subtle difference in the sound. People who report large differences are very likely experiencing impedance or phase problems due to any number of factors. If you use a headphone amp or something similar, test it first or make sure you can return it (or the headphones) if it doesn’t work out.
The only other headphone I compared the SRH-940 to (a very brief listen) is the B&W P5. The P5 sounds slightly hollow compared to the SRH-940, it sounds somewhat muffled on the high end, and sounds a little bit weak in the deep bass. Given that the P5 and SRH-940 sell for about the same price, and that the SRH-940 wins in sound quality on all counts (in my opinion), I’d say that the P5’s advantage is smaller size and better portability.
The SRH-940 will play at reasonable volume levels with portable devices such as most cellphones, iPods and so on. The straight cord feels strong enough to withstand some abuse, and with the earcups pulled all the way down and rotated against my chest, I can have the headphone around my neck all day long without it getting in my way when I’m not listening to it. It also comes with a coiled cord. Neither cord has an angled plug unfortunately. The other good news with the cord is that it’s detachable. The other less-than-good news is that the detachable end is partially proprietary. The detachable plug is a standard sub-mini plug (next size smaller than a 1/8 inch mini-plug), but the plastic fitting behind that plug locks into the jack on the earcup in a way that would require DIY’ers to take the earcup apart if they want to use a different cable without the proprietary connector.
The earcups of the SRH-940 completely surround my ears, and it’s a close fit. The internal space for ears in each oval earcup measure 2-5/8 by 1-7/8 inches. I find the fit very comfortable, but people with much larger ears may feel very cramped. The carrycase that comes with the SRH-940 is fairly large, and would take up a lot of space in a carry-on bag for airline travel. If this is your situation, I’d recommend carrying the SRH-940 around your neck when boarding, or just wrap it in something thin to place in a suitcase, to give it minimal protection. The entire headphone seems to be plastic except for the velour earpads, and Made In China means they optimized the SRH-940 for lowest production cost. The good news is that it seems to be very well made, and given the sound quality, a real bargain at the usual prices. Isolation from external sounds is good even when not playing music. When playing music, I can’t hear the telephone ring from 3 feet away, and the ringer is the old-fashioned kind - very attention-getting.
In addition to the pop music tracks listed below, which I used mainly for detecting weaknesses or other problems with the sound, I played a wide variety of genres (Jazz, Diana Krall, Bill Evans Trio; Bach organ, Biggs; Beethoven 9th, Solti CSO; Chopin, Moravec; Reggae, Marley, Tosh; Country, Haggard, Yoakam; Verdi, Domingo; Sinatra and Bennett; Punk, Germs, Fear, Sid Vicious, Social Distortion; Medieval, Madrigali, Medieval Babes; Trance, Mylene Farmer, etc.)
The following are some of the music tracks I tested with, and the main features I listened for with those tracks:
Blues Project - Caress Me Baby (piercing guitar sound, handled well). Cocteau Twins - Carolyn’s Fingers (guitar string detail and quality, excellent). Commodores - Night Shift (bass detail, excellent). Germs - Forming (raw garage sound, good). Lick The Tins - Can’t Help Falling In Love (tin whistle, very clear and clean). Lou Reed - Walk On The Wild Side (bass impact, good; detail excellent). REM - Radio Free Europe (drum impact, very good). Rolling Stones - She’s So Cold (bass impact and guitar sound, very good). U2 - With Or Without You (bass boom/high-pitched instruments/sibilants, handled well). Van Morrison - Into The Mystic (bass, moderate). Who - Bargain (voice trailing off: "best I ever had", very good vocal harmonics).

This pair of hp’s sound good. Fit is difficult to deal with.

Properly. I know about battery charge and shake to shuffle. I still have concerns about reliability. I did discuss issues about function with sales rep David and at that time it seemed like the hp’s functioned properly,
However within the last two days it has malfunctioned about 5 times. I did tell David that I would like to keep them. I do think that I have corrected all "operator headspace" errors. With this in mind please advise.

Ultrasone EDITION8 -Palladium Edition Closed Back Dynamic Over Ear Headphones w/S-Logic Natural SurroundSound
Titan of the Portables
I am a very picky listener, I’ve always been that way. I have scoured the earth for the past 15 years simply trying to find the right portable for me, I have not had any success in my quest until recently. I have been through dozens of sets just this year alone and perhaps hundreds over the past 15 years...never have I encountered anything even remotely close to Edition 8. It is a journey ender, nuff’ said. The Edition 8 is without question the best portable headphones in existence that I am currently aware of. You know that one, perfect set you strive to find your entire life? This is mine. The overall presentation is extremely natural sounding, it is not neutral nor warm. I feel it to be closer to what my ears pick up on naturally. That "natural" and unbiased coloration ( or lack there of ). It is far from cold, but is is also far from warm which makes this set unique in my opinion. This is the type of sound I have wanted since the beginning. A very natural and open sound in a small, circumaurial closed back set. Lets talk a bit about the S logic tech and the overall soundstaging, as that is usually what smacks you in the face first. I have never used a closed back portable set even remotely close to the Edition 8s size that had a sound stage that could compare. Believe it or not, the Sennheiser HD 598, which is known for having an excellent sound stage is a match for the overall width, height and depth of the Ed8 sound stage. This is kind of incredible if you ask me. I’ve been comparing the two for the past few days and feel comfortable in saying the size of the sound stages are very close. However, the HD 598 stage is without question more aired out and spacious in nature, but equal in width and height. Gives more of an airy sense to the presentation over the Edition 8. Separation is just good, it is nothing special. They are a very forward sounding set, something I strive hard to find in my portables. I want a close up, engaging sound that places me deep inside the music. The Edition 8 more than satisfies this need. The soundstage does not compare to the other open back Hi-Fi sets commonly seen in the audiophile world. Sets like the Beyerdynamic T1 or the Sennheiser HD800. They are also no competition for the Ultrasone Pro 750 or the Pro 900 models. I think both of those models had a taller and wider experience, but lacked the Edition 8s excellent stage depth and overall dynamics. For a closed back set of this size nothing on the market comes close that I have owned or used. It is the king of portable sound staging. By the way, the edition 8 is allergic to CROSSFEED. With crossfeed active the sound stage moves to something more like a sennheiser, distant and wider than tall and takes you out of the center placement, there is a very noticeable dip in overall sound quality and bass distortion becomes a serious problem. Beyond that, I get some nasty vibration problems and the inner mesh material in the center of the earpads end up bouncing around and touching my ears every 2 seconds. It is immensely annoying. The build quality is top notch but I have a few gripes. The cans squeak a little when you handle them, I feel it comes from the area that allows them to rotate ever so slightly. When I twist them gently, I hear some squeaks. Annoying when I put them on my head as well as when I take them off, but not enough to merit any serious whining. I think every single portable that is circumaurial and "portable" should use the design of the edition 8s headband. If you know me, I have a problem with headbands, few things on this earth upset me more than poorly designed headbands that do not conform to your head, those sets that make you look like a radar dish or a satellite? You know what I am talking about. Ultrasone makes a few of those...Anywho, the headband is a dream come true. It is light, durable and conforms perfectly to my head without leaving any gaps. This is a godsend to me. It seems to be made of solid metal throughout the set, I am going to say aluminum due to its light weight feel all around. Now, I am sorry but I have a gripe about the Palladium earcups that I must address. My first impression was a negative one, it felt like this was Palladium COATED, as in a very thin layer of this strong material over a much much much cheaper metal used to fashion the earcups. This made me immensely unhappy because it feels very hallow. I expected something more sturdy feeling and heavier...and for $1500 I definitely want to feel that weight, that little voice in the back of my mind that says "yes, I am made of solid metal, gently caress and love me to no end..." Well, that voice is absent as the earcups feel of a lower quality than I had hoped for. The cable is nice, its a dual strip that I would rate at medium thickness. Most portables use a much thinner cable, but I have also seen some with thicker. I really like the cable, it never gets in my way and is the perfect weight to make me feel like its solidly constructed. It is also the perfect length and leaves just the right amount of slack out of my pocket when i am using a portable media player. The adapter head is a standard mini plug, so I couldn’t be happier. At only 30 ohm, this is the most efficient sounding hi fi headphones I have ever used. Nothing even comes close this that I have used in the past, even in the open back world. The sound that comes out of my Sansa Fuze is excellent, despite the fact that the fuze is poor quality and should not ever be used with it. I am actually stunned at how great it sounds directly from crap sources. I think amping for portable needs is not required, as my Fuze + SR71A combo did almost nothing for it. I think the Edition 8 is more source dependent than anything else for your portable needs. The SR71a did almost nothing but boost clarity slightly over just using the fuze alone. Get yourself an excellent dap and dont worry about portable amping unless its a slim amp. If your portable rig is not truly portable, then the extra amping doesn’t seem at all worth it unless you are using a balanced cable and something like the SR71B in balanced mode where you will notice changes in the overall dynamics and stage. The overall bass experience is not only powerful, punchy and deep, but of excellent clarity and slightly warm to my ears. The set is never sibilant, there are no OWWWW moments even on tracks I’ve known to be extremely harsh. It is an absolute pleasure to listen to on every single genre of music I have tossed at it. I am fond of Gypsy Jazz, acoustic guitar, bass and backup guitar music, I have had trouble finding hifi sets that handle this genre well. The Edition 8 powers through it, its just breathtaking at times. With that, it also plays rock, jazz and classical equally as good. This set is the only closed back set I am aware of that is a true all around set that does not just handle it "well"...it handles all genres on a grand level to my ears anyway *Note that I did order a Colorfly CK4 which is supposed to sound incredible. I will report back soon as to how the Edition 8 sounds with it. The Edition 8 scales up something fierce! My home computer doesn’t even have a sound card of its own so when I use the ed8 directly out of the 3.5mm jack in the back, the sound is dissapointing. However, once comboed with the SR71A, the sound quality and experience forced me to completely ignore the outside world for a solid hour until I came to my senses. Now, later that day I skipped merrily to a buddies house who has an excellent sound card in his rig, this comboed with the SR71A actually sounded so great, I became sad for some reason. Maybe because I knew I had to go home shortly after? The point being the Edition 8 scales up to wonderful levels, with a good mp3 player the sound is excellent and far beyond anything else you can get that I am aware of in the portable world. With a good portable amp comboed with a good media player, the sound is stunning..... ...with an appropriate full sized media player of some type with something like the Woo Audio 6 tube amp...the sound quality sky rockets to a degree I thought not possible in a closed back set of this size. It is truly amazing. I am not fond of the leather material used. This ethiopian lamb skin does not feel as "quality" as the leather bag that came with the edition 8 as seen here. I feel like this type of leather was used just to jack up the price to astronomical levels. Despite there being three versions of the Edition 8 in the Rutherium, Palladium and LE I really feel like there should be a 4th version with the absence of these "super metals" and poor choice in leathers. That would drastically reduce the price and make the Edition 8 THE BEST OVERALL VALUE OF ALL TIME. We do not really care about this type of leather and especially so when the included case is made of a nicer feeling material! Also, the foam used in the earpads seems generic and this is absolutely 100% unacceptable. It is not special in any way and it feels like the same material foam you find in some common cheap sets. This foam should have been much softer and pliable, something more reflective of $1500.
Now, despite all the positive things I have said about it, I am not at all happy with the $1500-1700 price tag for the Palladium. I realize it is not fair to compare closed backs to open backs, but the Audeze LCD2 is less than half the price and sounds noticeably better. Its no where near as efficient and needs more amping for a portable rig but it along with the T1 and HD800, even the new Hifi Man elite sets sound more dynamic and clear than the edition 8 at a few hundred if not a thousand dollars less. Is this a good buy for the casual listener? Absolutely not. But for some like me who desire a specific sound and happen to find it in the Edition 8...the set becomes invaluable and priceless. I would have paid triple this price and never thought twice about it just because i love the sound so much. It is precisely what I have longed to hear for many years. It is not justified in its price tag, not even remotely. The sound quality difference between it and the pro 900 is not worth of $1000 and beyond. In my opinion you are paying equally as much for the overall sound qualities as you are for building materials. This should not happen and I feel saddened by it from a financial standpoint. DESPITE THAT it is worth every penny to me and them some. Due to the edition 8 meeting 99% of all my needs and desires and closing the book on 15 years of trying to find the right portable set, I would have paid triple for it and still have been very happy.

Able Planet IR200T - True Fidelity Wireless IR Over Ear Headphones with Linx Audio/Single Channel Transmitter
Great
I bought a pair of these for my mother who’s in an assisted living facility, where it can be hard to hear the TV.
I installed the tranmitter and they work great! Crisp, clear sound, with no static, and terrific sound quality.
She loves them and shows them off to the staff and other patients.
I have since ordered two more sets for other patients and installed them. They love ’em.
The quality of these headsets have added to their quality life and TV enjoyment. Well worth the money.
I emailed David Solomon, at headphones.com, and explained my needs, and he suggested these headphones.
The sevice and advice was great and I would recomend these to anyone. Thanks HH

AKG K601 - Audiophile Reference Class Open Back Dynamic Over Ear Headphones
My favorite cans
I have owned the Grado SR125 and SR200, I now own Beyerdynamic DT880 in 250 ohm, and before all that I was listening to some Sennheiser Pro 600 ohm cans. I bought these AKG K601 cans about the same time as the DT880 cans, back in late 2007. I also ended up with an AKG HEARO 999 Audiospere II setup by late 2007. They are all very good. If I could only have one, it would be the AKG HEARO 999, as they are wireless and the transmitter is also a high quality DAC, can be used as an audiophile quality preamp for music and home theater, has synthesized 2-channel surround sound, and contains a very good hardwired headphone preamp. You can listen while roaming about the house. With a MSRP of $1100 back in the day, it had to be good, and it was aimed at the pro market. But what about the AKG K601 for about $300, and ditto for the Beyerdynamic DT880? Needless to say, these hardwired cans are fully the equal of the wireless 999 cans in sound quality. In fact, I think the bass is better in both the DT880 and K601, and both are a bit more open. HEARO 999 seems to be a hybrid between open and closed design to my ears, and they look it as well. The extra weight can wear on you after a while. The HEARO 999 has that trademark lusciopus midrange that AKG seems to get better than anybody else, and the K601 has even more of that luscious midrange. The DT880 has more extended bass and treble, but seems reticent in the midrange by comparison. For classical orchestral music and widerange electronica, the DT880 seems the best set of cans by a slim margin. However, for vocal music and music rich in midrange like guitar, the K601 has the truth of timbre and emotional presence that grabs you and pulls you into the music. The K601 sits on your head, but it connects to your heart. The DT880 might appeal more to audiophiles that listen to the cans or every minute detail of the music in isolation. If you have heard good tube gear and good solid state gear, K601 is more like tubes and DT880 is more like solid state. I own both types of gear by Conrad-Johnson, and appreciate the differences. AKG headphones also have the lowest fatigue factor of any of the headphones I ever owned, which may explain their popularity among professionsals who wear cans for a living....or somebody who owns C-J amplification and wants that liquidity, truth of timbre and freedom from fatigue without loss of resolution.

Sennheiser OMX680i - Adidas Sports Clip-On Earbud Earphones with Mic/Smart Remote
These babies rock! I have the great pleasure of being able to listen to many different types of headphones and have come across few that sound as good as these do in this style. The mic is convenient and works flawlessly with my iPhone. I tested out on various calls and asked the other person how I sounded and they couldn’t tell I was using a mic. Little to no echo. Always a plus. Volume control is nice, but the best is being able to wash these out after a solid workout. I sweat like a beast when I hit the gym or run outdoors. All I have to do is run the buds under cold water when I get home and I don’t have to worry about the salt from my sweat drying out surrounds on the headphones. Great engineering! Thanks for the fast shipment and helpful phone calls.

Sennheiser RS110 - Wireless RF Dynamic Open Stereo Over Ear Headphones with Transmitter
A tuning challenge
Once I got them tuned into the proper channel I was pleased with the result. The tuning is a genuine challenge...it requires a touch that is quite precise. I bought two headphones and gave up on one transmitter but had better success tuning in the second.
The sound is good and adds to my TV viewing. I must admit, while the headphones are comfortable, they are quite warm....I guess comparable to wearing earmuffs indoors.

Audio-Technica ATH-WS50BK - Solid Bass Over Ear Headphones
Amazing for the Price
For under $100, these guys sound amazing! I was lookign for soemthing with good bass, but didnt want the widely popular Beats By Dre. Headphones.com suggested I check out these guys, I ordered and recevied within 2 days. The bass is full and rich, treble is not shrilly or tinny and the mids are warm.
It may not be as bassy as some $300+ Beats by Dre’s, but the clarity is unmached, and its 1/3rd of the price!

Turtle Beach Ear Force PX5 Dolby 7.1 Surround Sound Wireless/Bluetooth XBOX/PS3 Over Ear Gaming Headset w/Mic
FANTASTIC.
Let me start by saying I have experience with all types of headsets with that being said This is the BEST wireless headset there is. The sound quality is amazing. Its very comfortable to wear now my favorite feature is the blue tooth feature which allows you to sync your phone to your headset and take calls while your gaming. there is loads of presets on this headset that allows you to customize not only the presets but you can create your own presets which is pretty cool. Just an all around great and i dare say the best headset around.

Grado SR80i - Prestige Series Open Back Dynamic On Ear Headphones
Blows me away for under $100
The clarity and detail out of these things are amazing.... the bass not ’thump’ quite enough for some people, as was my first impression.
After an hour so of listening, to some good recordings (not some uber compressed mp3 I downloaded) I was hooked. Been raving about them all day, forcing my coworkers to try em out.
The open back design may add to the sound quality, but others can hear what you are listening to. Not recommended for planes, libraries, waiting rooms, etc. The open back also lets you hear some outside noise; so if you are outside in some noisy environments, you will have some interference.
The staff @ Headphones.com were super helpful in pointing me to these after I explained my musical tastes and budget. I ordered them on a Wednesday and received by Friday with free shipping..not bad.
Thanks, you guys rock!

Grado SR325is - Prestige Series High Performance Open Back Dynamic On Ear Headphones
I am in awe
Coming from a very modest listening background, I can honestly say that these things are astounding. I am hearing lyrics that I have never heard before. I can hear Robert Plant counting under his breathe and breathing in before he starts to sing. Cymbals actually sound like cymbals for the first time through headphones. The great thing about these is that if you are unsure of which headphone amplifier or DAC to get for a while, you can wait as much as you like, for these are very low impedance at 32?. Your portable music player or laptop will likely be able to drive them to satisfying volumes.
A couple of sidenotes:
- The actual drivers are enclosed in a metal housing, but the outside of that housing is not matte silver as in the picture, but rather a very brightly polished chrome-like finish
- The cable is long, but also properly thick (~6.5mm in diameter)
- These are OPEN headphones. What you hear, other people will pic up to a degree you or they may find annoying. Personally, I don’t care.
XD
If you buy these, you cannot really be disappointed. Along with being amazing, these are an amazing value.

Turtle Beach Ear Force PX5 Dolby 7.1 Surround Sound Wireless/Bluetooth XBOX/PS3 Over Ear Gaming Headset w/Mic
Epic Headset
I was browsing Kotaku.com and I happen to come across their review of the Px5. I heard so many good things, then I saw a post from a user saying that they were waiting for their pair from Headphones.com. So,, First thing I did was browse your website and I found the Px5 for a low price of 214.99! To tell you the truth, I’m glad. The Px5 is a epic headset, being able to connect via bluetooth to a computer,PSPgo, and many other products. I used it for my Xbox 360, I watch netflix, play COD, and many other things with it. I hate the whole battery thing.. But is just a minor thing. overall, the Px5 is a beast of a headset.

Sennheiser RS160 - Kleer Digital Wireless Closed Back Dynamic Over Ear Headphones with Transmitter
Peculiar
Easy set up. Wonderful sound. But why did you allow the controls of off/on and each volume to be so hard to access? They all FEEL the same; spaced so close together. Really!
You could have put somebody on that part of the design job who would relate to the customer: how to make each control FEEL different so you wouldn’t have to take the headphone off to find the one you want -- most anybody would have done a better job.
Not so sure I understand the beeping that occurs some time. I know it’s volume related, but it doesn’t always make sense why it starts beeping.

EarPollution EP-CS40-WHT - CS40 Comfort Series On Ear Headphones - White
omg these are so much better than skullcandies..
These headphones are not only stylish, slick, and able to fold up for portability but it has the key four things most music lovers tend to look for.
1. Comfort - I’m so seriously amazed at the comfort of these ear cushions! This is an on ear headphones which usually (in my case) provides strain and headaches to the sides of my head. But these do not whatsoever. The inch thick pads are aerofoam cushions which mold over your ears gently. They fit securely on my head but sometimes it pulls my hair and overtime your ears start to sweat.
2. Noise - Now these aren’t your audiophile headphones, thats why i recommend these to the average Joe that loves music. But these headphones have SO MUCH BASE in them!! For the price your paying its a total steal. I was very surprised at the amount of base because the website focused on the headphones comfort. These headphones are capable of vibrating your eyes! These headphones are not only better than 90% of Skullcandy headphones but cheaper too! Skullcandy Lowriders are 40$ and have NO BASE in them. I bought these for around 30$ and got something amazing! The bass may not compare to the "Beats" but if you use a FIIO base amplifier, than it could easily rival the beats. The guitar is loud too which I enjoy. However, the vocals isn’t that great. I’m not too picky on vocals usually because I mainly listen to rap but on occasions when I listen to anything that involves singing these headphones don’t do their voices justice.
Price - 40$ for these is a pretty good deal but paying even LESS than that on AllTecStores is even better! I wonder to myself how do they even make a profit which prices like these?!
Style - These headphones are very minimalistic in a good way. Very slick and clean yet original. Walk around these in your areas comparing your headphones to skater teens with their skullcandy lowriders and what not.
Overall - These headphones are GREAT! They fold, they look nice, they are seriously comfortable, and the noise that comes out of them are literally brain shaking. Only problems I have with them is that occasionally they pull my hair, the vocals aren’t that great, and they squeak pretty loudly around the hinges.

EarPollution EP-CS40-BLK - CS40 Comfort Series On Ear Headphones - Black
Nice Head phones
I wrote a review straight to the manufacture just shortly after I recieved the headphones. Wish I had saved what I said. But if you must know, I am very pleased with Ear Pollution Comfort Series. They not only look good and feel good, they sound good. And when I’m out rollerblading with bad boys on, it makes me feel like I’m in a movie. They also sound very good when I’m plugged in to my laptop. Thankyou soo much for making such a well engineered product. Sincerely, Pete C.

They work and sound great on my laptop. I also do alot of rollerblading. So when I plug these bad boys in my mp3 player and go out for a good ride, it makes me feel like I’m in a movie and I’m the star. Thankyou very much Ear Pollution. Sincerely a very satisfied costumer, Pete C.

Sennheiser HD280PRO - Professional Studio Monitor/DJ Hi-Fi Dynamic Closed Back Over Ear Headphones
Snappy
Ok, so the review title has you going..."what?" Really, that’s the best way to describe this fantastic headphone. I love listening to the best high and low spectrum and loved how audio always improved with time. This phone is a radical departure from the traditional over the ear phone. The audio is sharp, crisp, clear, and the 8-25k response blasts through. What stands out is how it does this sounding natural with precise clarity. My only complaint is a little discomfort with the headband over time and the covering over the ears feels a little clammy after listening but none of these are big gripes at all. Really, this is one of the best I’ve ever hears. Can’t recommend them enough. Especially when they outperform gear worth twice or 3X the cost. Worth every penny.

Beats by Dr. Dre 129528 - Studio Red Sox Edition Noise Cancelling Over Ear Headphones - Red Sox Theme
pretty rediculous
these things are awesome - plain and simple. A lot of audiophile’s claim they are over priced junk, but I have put them head to head with some of the other names in the price range (Sennheiser, AKG, Audio Technica, etc) and I think these may even sound better for my style of music - rock, funk, some rap..i like bass too, so these definitely deliver
they are open back so if you have the volume up a bit people around you can hear what you’re listening too (and sometimes loudly).. I don’t really like that

Sennheiser HD280PRO - Professional Studio Monitor/DJ Hi-Fi Dynamic Closed Back Over Ear Headphones
great headphones for price
This model Sennheiser headphones seems to get good reviews by end users, and is recommended for studio recording applications, particularly for drummers since the ear cups do a pretty good job of blocking ambient noise, like the sound of their own playing. Also tolerate high sound level. I’m no superhuman audiophile, but they do sound good to me. Overall construction is plastic, but the part that matters -- the audio drivers -- are made of good materials. I bought from Alltec because their price beat every other vendor by 15%. Shipped fast. Great deal overall.

LTB Audio Systems Q-Home-FX - 2.4GHz Wireless True 5.1 Surround Sound Over Ear Headphones - Black
Surround ? ? ?
Overall: A nice product....
Pro’s: No wires to worry about. 3 different source inputs. Accepts all types of surround, (doby digital, DTS, PCM, etc). Fairly comfortable for about 60 minutes. Li-ion battery -no battery-memory issues. Good for 6 -8 hours before recharging. Stereo separation is very good, but not surround.
Con’s: Speaker placement in earpads is incorrect, ...front to rear separation is not perceptable....all speakers work but "surround" effect is dissappointing.
Wireless is excellent , but cuts out when your not in the same room. Wireless is not as as an equivalent 2.4 ghz phone. Definitely not 100+ meter range, more like 20.
