Featuring handcrafted Mahogany earpieces made using an intricate curing process, Grado has been able to optimize the tonal quality. The RS1 uses dynamic transducers in an open-air configuration, the cups being open-backed. The result is a smooth, coherent sound with detailed dynamics. 1. Ugly. Made of wood? What!? 2. Too big. All phones these days should fit in your ear. 3. Sound funny. 4. Too expensive. Waste of my money. You gotta be kidding me.

Someone buy these for me, please!

A friend of mine has these, and they're amazing. I feel like my stereo is broken compared to these headphones. Even listening to an iPod is a religious experience. I just can't afford them now. I'd do anything for a pair!

The holy grail of portable sound?

I bought these headphones because several friends have Grado's and they said Grado is amazing. Well they were right. These RS1's sound truly spectacular. There's even wood on the outside of the speaker, errr, at least it looks like wood. I would easily spend the money again to get these.
