Earphones
Earphones have small speakers that fit in your ears. Either as ear buds that just rest against the outside of your ears, or ear canal earphones that fit deep inside like earplugs.
Earphones come in a wide price range, from the under $50 range like the ones that come with your iPod, up to custom fit canalphones that are molded to fit in your ears alone for upwards of $900.
Canalphones are better for individuals who have trouble keeping ear-buds in their ears, but prefer something small instead of an over the head headphone. Canalphones also offer great noise isolation, so you hear your music instead of outside noises.
We recommend spending a little bit of money to get some really decent earphones that will work for you. Instead of spending $20-$30 four or five times on cheap earphones that fall apart and never sound very good, try finding yourself a nice pair in the $100 range. Keep in mind how you like to hear your music when choosing your earphones. Do you prefer balanced sound, or a lot of bass? If you pay attention to these things before you purchase, you will be much happier in the long run.
