Full-Size Headphones
Full-size headphones are larger and usually circumaural, meaning that the earpads fit around your ears and do not rest on the ears themselves.
The two major categories of full-size headphones are sealed (closed) and open.
Sealed or closed full-size headphones are better for outside or other noisy listening environments, like a DJ table. They isolate you from the outside noise and prevent headphone noise leaking, so the people around you can not hear.
Open headphones have vented earcups so they allow you to hear what is around you and are better for general use in quiet environments, such as around the home.It has been easier to design a more spacious sounding headphone with an open earcup because there is no enclosed, resonant earcup chamber, so for quiet environments you can get better sound.
Full size headphones can also be audiophile, wireless or noise cancelling.
