Why you should get rid of your iPod Earbuds

iPods are great portable music players, but the earbuds that come with them are just terrible. They have some of the worst sound quality of any earphones we have heard. And they are extremely uncomfortable to boot.

You can get much better earphones for as low as even $40. And if you want to spend a bit more, there are lots of options available to you.

However, if you've gotten the latest iPod shuffle with the inline controls, you are definitely more limited. Apple does make a more expensive (~$80) model of the earbuds that has the inline controls and microphone that allows you to use it with the third generation iPod Shuffle. There is speculation that most headphone companies will soon produce compatible headphones and earphones with the inline controls, but at this time we'd recommend just sticking with the regular iPod and a better set of regular earphones.
